Frequently Asked Questions
Why do I need a personal stylist?
You don’t need a Personal Stylist if you are happy and confident with a stylish, organised wardrobe you feel fabulous in. If, however, you don’t feel like ‘you’ any more when you get dressed, you are ‘making do’ with clothes that make you feel anything but fabulous or you don’t have the time or inclination to go shopping, then you would benefit from investing in my styling services.
Maybe you have gone though changes in your life such as having children, returning to work after a break, a new job role or setting up a business and your wardrobe no longer works for you. Investing in yourself and feeling great in your image is about so much more than the clothes.
I offer one-to-one bespoke personal styling in Central London and the South East as well as offering online styling services if you live further away.
What value will I receive?
You will have a stylish, organised wardrobe full of clothes you love and confidence boosting outfits. You’ll have tons more outfit choices, items you can mix and match and clothes that work for your lifestyle – no more ‘what to wear’ frustration when you open your wardrobe!
These are the immediate benefits. As well as these, long term my clients have secured job roles, achieved promotion and been more outgoing as a result of having their style transformed. Clients often tell me they feel like ‘me’ again and are able to express themselves once more.
Is it worth the investment?
Investing in help with your style is no different to having support in other areas of your life where you are time poor and it will change your life for the better.
We all lead very busy lives and time as well as money is a precious commodity. It will eliminate time wasted on fruitless shopping trips, mistake buys and hours spent looking at a full wardrobe but having ‘nothing’ to wear – saving you time and money in the long run.
The beneficial effect of being confident in our image has a powerful impact on every part of our lives.
Can it work for me as I’m not the sort of person who ever needed help with my style before?
The very act of being proactive and choosing to invest in your style shows that you care about how you look. Many of my clients have an interest in fashion and clothes but for whatever reason their lifestyle has changed resulting in them not having time to do it themselves. They tell me the process has revived their love of fashion and they now enjoy shopping and dressing once again.
Clients sometimes feel that they currently have ‘no sense of style’ and this is never true. I haven’t met anyone yet who doesn’t have a unique style we can develop together – we just need to find it by getting rid of the superfluous clutter first!
I hate shopping. Is that a problem?
Absolutely not! I spend hours planning our shopping trip, doing online research and a pre-shop before we even hit the stores together. That way, you get maximum benefit from our time together and there is no aimless wandering around stores.
The shopping trip is focused on exactly what you need and you don’t even need to leave the changing room if you don’t want to. My aim is to make it as stress-free and painless as possible and you never know, you might even enjoy it as this client did; “I was rather terrified of the whole styling experience but working with Sally was a delight. Four hours shopping would usually be my idea of hell but the time flew by and we had a lot of fun.”
Why are you more expensive than an online or in store personal shopper? Wouldn’t they do the job just as well for less money?
Online subscription styling services are without doubt cheaper but you only have to look at the reviews online to see the results are hit and miss. Online services use algorithms and bots so cannot offer you the personal touch or knowledge that an experienced personal stylist can. There are some great in-store personal shoppers around and they work well if you are can buy everything you need in one shop.
This is never the case on a Queen Bee Styling personal shop. We’ll visit many shops to cherry pick exactly the right styles for you. Also, in-store stylists do not have the luxury of getting to know you first. Through our telephone call, your questionnaire answers and our wardrobe edit, I will have spent hours researching exactly what you need before we even set foot in a changing room together.
Do I have to have a Wardrobe Detox and Style before a Personal Shop?
You don’t have to but I always advise clients to have both services if they can, especially the first time we work together. The Wardrobe Detox and style isn’t just about getting rid of clothes, it helps us get to the nitty gritty of your unique style, lifestyle and what you need from your wardrobe.
On the shopping trip we will look to ensure you are able to create outfits from the styles you already own as well as finding new looks and updates. The complete package ensures that you have a de-cluttered, stylish wardrobe that works for your current lifestyle.
Think of it like redecorating a room. Would you just add new things in and leave the rest of it as it is? Not likely. Instead you would curate and edit the bits you still like and then add new pieces and colours to work with these. That’s how personal styling works.
I’m interested. What do I do next?
The first step is to email me and book in a 30-minute consultation call. We will discuss where you’re at, where you would like to be and what you would like to achieve from our styling sessions. It’s a good chance to see if we are the right fit for each other.
Once we have decided to go ahead we will arrange some dates, I’ll send through a questionnaire and further details to start preparing you for the process. You can then leave the rest to me! I’ll make a targeted plan based on your budget, body shape and lifestyle so our time together is efficient and productive.
