Hello,
My name is Sally Smy. I’m a London based personal stylist and personal shopper.
I work all across London, including the boroughs of Southwark, Bromley, Wandsworth, Kingston, Hammersmith, Kensington and Chelsea, Richmond on Thames, Westminster, Islington and many more.
My London shopping trips with clients take place on Oxford Street in the West End, Covent Garden, Knightsbridge, Kings Road, Bond Street, Regent Street, Carnaby Street, Marylebone High Street, Mayfair, Notting Hill and Westfield London. Not all of these in one day though! I pre-shop and do lots of research to plan the shopping trip so there is no aimless wandering and you get the maximum benefit from our time together.
I’ve lived in London all my life and prior to becoming a Personal Stylist worked for many years in London’s West End as a Fashion Buyer. I know the area like the back of my hand which helps me to hone in on the brands that are right for you and their best locations.
Shopping locations in London
There are so many great locations to shop in London that it’s impossible to list them all here. Where you shop depends very much on your individual style and what you are looking for. Here are some other useful locations to know:
For vintage shopping I recommend Portobello Road, Ladbroke Grove, Spitalfields Market, Brick lane, Shoreditch and Covent Garden.
For luxury high end brands go to Knightsbridge, Sloane Street, Old and New Bond Street, Bruton Street, Savile Row, Audley Street, Conduit Street and Burlington Arcade.
If you’re looking for something off the beaten track then try Coal Yard Drop Kings Cross, Battersea Power Station, Camden Passage, Seven Dials Covent Garden, Redchurch Street and Kings Road.
Where in London do I work?
My London clients come from as far as Ealing to Greenwich and Redbridge to Sutton however I have many who come from further afield. There are many mainline stations that service the West End of London such as Marylebone, Kings Cross and Euston which makes it easily accessible if you’re travelling in from out of town.
There are also multiple tube stations which give you easy access to these London shopping areas. Oxford Circus, Marble Arch and Bond Street are the closest stations for Oxford Street, Regent Street, Carnaby Street, Mayfair and Bond Street as the name would suggest!
Covent Garden, Knightsbridge and Notting Hill have tube stations of the same name and Westfield London nearest station is Shepherd’s Bush. This means my busy clients ,who work in London, are able to fit a personal shopping session and trip to the office in one day.
Why choose a personal stylist in London?
I have visited many countries and covered hundreds, possibly thousands, of miles whilst shopping both as a buyer and now as a stylist. In my experience Central London is one of the best places to shop as it has a unique mix of high street and designer shops all within touching distance.
Many brands have flagship branches in London. Why is that important? To put it simply, they carry the largest ranges so you have your pick of the best stock to choose from. That’s something you just don’t get from smaller out of town shopping centres or from visiting one department store.
As an independent stylist I am not affiliated with any brand or store so every client has a bespoke shopping trip tailored to their needs. We’ll visit any London shop that has the right pieces for you and I can access the styling rooms which makes shopping a whole new experience.
Can you travel to me for personal styling in London?
I often travel outside London for wardrobe edits and outfit building sessions. I’m happy to travel to the counties surrounding London including Kent, Essex, Sussex, Surrey and Buckinghanshire and Hertfordshire. I do charge for traveling outside the M25 and I will let you know the amount prior to confirming the booking. I’m very happy to travel abroad if all my expenses are paid!
Do I have to travel to your London office?
No, none of the styling services take place in my office. The wardrobe edits and outfit building services take place in your home. The personal shopping session will take place in one of the London areas as listed above. I also offer virtual styling services on video call for those that live far away or can’t get to London.
